An American citizen was killed, and three others were injured in a road accident in Kakureiju village, Kanungu District, on January 25.
The crash occurred at approximately 7am when a Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UAM 271U, lost control while navigating a sharp corner on a slope.
The vehicle, driven by 33-year-old Alpha Dadaire from Wakiso District, was carrying four occupants, including three American tourists.
The vehicle failed to brake, rolled several times, and crashed under Kyeshero Bridge.
Harrison Evan Shuldman, a 40-year-old from New York, was killed in the accident.
Three others, including Zachary Avayou, 39, from Pennsylvania, Jeremy Frederick Wright, 25, from California, and the driver, Alpha Dadaire, sustained injuries.
The injured were rushed to Bwindi Hospital for treatment, and the body of the deceased was also transported there.
The vehicle was towed to Kihihi Police Station for inspection, and investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
Traffic Police spokesperson Michael Kananura expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
