Robber Shot Dead as Armed Gang Robs Kyotera Coffee Factory of Shs50m

Police in the Greater Masaka district of Kyotera have confirmed the fatal shooting of a robber in a shootouts following a violent robbery at Mazima Bugagga coffee factory in Kabira-Kifuuta village.
The incident occurred when a group of five armed men stormed the factory, owned by prominent businessman Ronald Lubega, also known as Naadi.
The attackers reportedly shot the factory manager and made off with Shs50 million in cash.
Police responded swiftly and tracked the suspects to Kizigo area, where a shootout ensued.
One of the suspects, identified as Lawrence Ssenyuumu, was killed during the exchange, while the remaining four managed to flee.
Security operatives recovered two guns, a motorcycle, and other exhibits from the scene. The injured factory manager was rushed to hospital, though his condition remains undisclosed.
A manhunt is underway for the fleeing suspects, with police urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals.
Authorities have reassured the public that intensified patrols and intelligence-led operations are ongoing to restore security in the area.
