The National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, has accused security forces of planting tracking devices and fetishes at the party’s Kavule offices following a recent raid.

Mr Kyagulanyi said a technical team had been investigating the premises since yesterday to uncover items potentially planted by the operatives.

“While it’s difficult to establish the full extent of the damage, yesterday a GPS tracking device was found hidden behind the light of one of the vehicles we left at the premises,” he said.

In addition to the tracking device, he also revealed that a small camera and another unidentified gadget were discovered in his office.

“The purpose of which we are yet to establish,” he added.

More alarmingly, Kyagulanyi claimed that items resembling fetishes (locally known as ebyawongo) were found under the carpet at the premises.

“Sadly, we also found things that looked like fetishes hidden under the carpet,” he said.

The Nile Post could not independently verify the claims and has contacted Police for a comment.

Despite these unsettling discoveries, Kyagulanyi expressed confidence in the justness of the party’s cause.

“As the teams continue to do their work with diligence, we remain unmoved because of the justness of our cause and the correctness of our mission. We shall certainly overcome,” he asserted.

The accusations follow an earlier security operation when armed personnel from the Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force (JATT) surrounded the NUP headquarters in Kavule, cutting off all access roads and conducting a search of the premises.

The exact reason for the operation remains unclear, and no official statement has been made regarding whether any materials were seized or arrests were made.

Kyagulanyi and other party leaders had vacated the area before the full-scale deployment, and as of the latest update, security forces continue to control the premises, leaving many questions unanswered about the motive and implications of the operation.
