Kampala, Uganda – The ongoing rivalry between Ugandan artists Alien Skin and Pallaso erupted into public violence over the weekend, marking another chapter in their tumultuous relationship.

In a shocking turn of events at the Empele festival, Alien Skin, known for his aggressive style both in music and in public, led his gang in a disruptive action against fellow musician Pallaso, who was in the middle of his performance. Eyewitnesses reported that Alien Skin’s group stormed the stage, physically removing Pallaso from the spotlight, leading to a scuffle that quickly escalated.

Following this incident, the feud took a more personal and destructive turn. Pallaso retaliated by orchestrating an attack on Alien Skin’s residence in Katwe. According to reports lodged with the local police, the assault resulted in the destruction of several vehicles and the theft of an estimated Shs 6 million.

The Katwe police station has now opened an investigation into what they’ve classified as aggravated robbery and malicious damage to property. Alien Skin has publicly accused Pallaso of being behind the attack, detailing the extent of the damage and financial loss.

The State Minister for Youth and Children, Balaam Barugahara, has condemned the actions of both artists, emphasizing the need for police intervention to quell the gang violence associated with Uganda’s music industry. Barugahara has also announced that his promotion company will sever ties with both Alien Skin and Pallaso due to their involvement in promoting gang culture.

This incident has sparked a broader conversation about the influence of musicians in fostering gang violence and the role of public figures in Uganda’s youth culture. Calls for a peaceful resolution have been made, with suggestions ranging from a professional boxing match to a musical battle, though none have yet come to fruition.

As the dust settles, the music community, fans, and law enforcement watch closely, hoping for a resolution that brings peace back to the vibrant Ugandan music scene while addressing the underlying issues of violence and rivalry.
