Parliament is set to resume its sitting on Thursday this week, with a packed agenda that includes several pending matters that need to be addressed before the close of the 4th session of the 11th Parliament.

According to a notice issued to all legislators by the Deputy Clerk to Parliament, Yoweri Waiswa, the Speaker has directed that the House convene on Thursday at 2pm.

The upcoming sitting will feature discussions on critical issues, including a statement on the state of roads and the recent surge in road accidents.

Additionally, Parliament will consider a motion for approval of the proposed disposal of selected plots of land in Kampala by the Kampala Capital City Authority.

The resumption of Parliament comes after the Speaker adjourned the House sine die on Tuesday last week, following the passage of two contentious bills: the UPDF Amendment Bill 2025 and the Political Parties and Organizations Amendment Bill 2025.

“We have received a directive from the Speaker to inform legislators about the resumption of the parliamentary sitting slated for Thursday this week at 2 pm,” Yoweri Waiswa, the Deputy Clerk to Parliament, stated in the notice.

With a busy agenda ahead, legislators are expected to engage in thorough discussions and debates on the pending business, ensuring that the interests of their constituents are represented.
