The former spokesperson of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Uganda Police Force, Charles Twine, has gone missing.

Twine, who currently works as officer in charge of investigations at Parliament, has been missing since Wednesday, according to his family.

Family members say the detective was last seen and heard from on Wednesday afternoon while leaving the police headquarters in Naguru, where he had an appointment with the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Twine had traveled to Mbarara on Monday with a parliamentary committee but ended his trip early after being summoned for a meeting with the IGP scheduled for 7:00am on Wednesday.

He traveled from Mbarara to Kampala on Tuesday night. His phones have been off since Wednesday afternoon.

Our efforts to obtain a comment from the police were unsuccessful, as our phone calls went unanswered.
