Ugandan music icon Bebe Cool is set to make waves in the industry with the release of his much-anticipated album, Break The Chains, scheduled to drop on Friday, May 30, 2025. The announcement came during a lively TikTok Live session on April 25, where the artist engaged with some of Uganda’s top TikTokers, revealing details about the project that has been the talk of the town for nearly two years.

The album, described as a defining moment in Bebe Cool’s career, blends his signature sound with fresh Afrobeats influences and raw, heartfelt storytelling. The release of the first two singles, Circumference and Motivation, has already stirred excitement, showcasing a bold shift in the artist’s musical direction. “Circumference shocked most of my fans because it was a different sound,” Bebe Cool shared during the TikTok Live. “This change is deliberate, aligning with the current market trends where Afrobeats is dominating the African music scene.”

Bebe Cool’s strategic moves, including the launch of The Motivation Week and a memorable press conference late last year, have kept fans and industry insiders buzzing with anticipation. The artist has been vocal about his mission to push Ugandan music onto the global stage. “Break the Chains is about cracking the glass ceiling to take Ugandan music to the table. Most local artists believe we are not welcome,” he declared during the TikTok session. “I’m venturing into the unknown to inspire young artists to take bold steps.”

The album marks a significant evolution for Bebe Cool, who has collaborated with a fresh crop of producers, engineers, and rising Ugandan Afrobeats talents like Joshua Baraka. Reflecting on the changing music landscape, he noted, “Uganda has often missed out because many artists are either too comfortable or afraid to explore the unknown. With this album, I’m leading by example.”

Break The Chains follows the success of Bebe Cool’s previous album, Go Mama, which earned continental recognition with nominations for the MTV Africa Music Awards, Channel O Awards, and Kora Awards. The single Love You Everyday remains a standout, boasting over 5.5 million streams on Spotify and 14 million views on YouTube, making it one of Uganda’s most exported songs.

Fans can expect Break The Chains to deliver the emotional depth that Bebe Cool is known for while pushing creative boundaries. The album will be available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. As the release date approaches, Bebe Cool has promised to share more details about the project, which he calls “a new dawn” for Ugandan music.
