Next Media has joined the 2025 Absa KH3-7 Hills Run as a Diamond and Media Partner, offering substantial media support to amplify awareness of the annual charity event.
The announcement was made at Next Media Park during a visit by Absa Bank Uganda’s Interim Managing Director, David Wandera, who encouraged the media house’s staff to participate in the run and support its cause.
This collaboration strengthens efforts to promote the KH3-7 Hills Run’s mission of advancing girls’ education in Uganda.
Group CEO , Next media Kin Kariisa reaffirmed their commitment, emphasising the event’s impact.
“We recognise the significant impact of the Absa KH3-7 Hills Run on the lives of thousands of girls. With our unparalleled media coverage, we aim to rally more people to join Absa in changing the story of girl-child education in Uganda,” Kariisa said.
The annual run has grown significantly, with participation rising from 2,600 runners in 2023 to 6,000 in 2024, and even greater numbers expected this year. David Wandera expressed appreciation for Next Media’s support, stating,
“Today, we welcome Next Media to run with us throughout the course of this year’s KH3-7 Hills Run. Your support remains invaluable in raising awareness. Beyond media support, we encourage the Next Media team to join us on March 16 and make a real difference.”
Since its inception, the run has raised Shs 500 million, benefiting over 10,000 girls through partnerships with the Joshua Cheptegei Foundation, Baylor College’s DREAMS program, Amref Health Africa, and others.
Scheduled for March 16, 2025, the event will feature 21km, 10km, and 5km races.
Top finishers in the 21km category will win a land title and tickets to the prestigious Absa Run Your City Series in Johannesburg, South Africa.
